Bike and Saddle® is a leading eco-active travel company that runs guided active journeys and short excursions in partnership with some of the world's premier hotel & property names.

Our signature Eco-Active ™ Holidays are designed to meet the expectations of those who are active and appreciate the finer things in life. Our guests regard a traveling holiday as an extension of their active lifestyle - a journey of body, mind and soul - rather than just another ‘tour’. And they wish to travel responsibly.

Excursions and Holidays are carefully researched and custom-designed to ensure a perfect balance of adventure and luxury – with zero hassle for our guests.

We offer property owners a unique opportunity to join our Eco-Active Affiliate Member Network, in turn allowing owners to affiliate with SA’s most prestigious and luxury active travel brand and offering guests a truly unique active travel experience.

There are two affiliate categories: Property Partners and a Trade Affiliate Membership. The latter is earmarked towards smaller Hotel and Bread & Breakfast establishments.

Trade Affiliation: Overview

The affiliation offers guest house owners a number of carbon neutral products to market to their guests in return for a commission and the opportunity to be publicly affiliated in our ‘eco-active affiliate member and partner network’. As an eco-active affiliate member, you stand to gain from our travel portal i.e. www.ecoactive.travel where our members are highlighted and the opportunity to be associated, and promote your affiliation, with Africa’s premier active travel brand.

Eco-Active Affiliate Member | Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
An MOU between parties (Bike & Saddle and approved establishment) clarifies the affiliation details and responsibilities.

The parties
Bike & Saddle and the establishment.

Purpose
The MOU provides a framework to facilitate cooperation and collaboration between the Parties, on a non-exclusive basis.

Collaboration
To promote and sell Bike & Saddle’s signature and trademarked eco-active excursions and holidays and to promote the eco-active affiliation to the benefit of the parties

Bike & Saddle contribution
Sales aids, training, products & services, commission, affiliate network maintenance, marketing, product development.

Affiliate member contribution
Introduce Bike & Saddle relevant Bike & Saddle product/s to each and every visiting guest, prior and during guest stay | carry the ‘Going Eco-Active’ and ‘Bike & Saddle Affiliate member’ label and logo’s throughout it’s establishment, online and offline | share guest feedback and in general help advance the eco-active brand under Bike & Saddle.

Commitment
A minimum twelve month engagement period.

Membership benefits
Member of exclusive, luxury active travel brand – with partnerships that include the Cape Grace Hotel, The Mantis Group (Shamwari, Sanbona, Jock Safar – Kruger National Park, The Last Word) | active member promotion through the network (ecoactive.travel portal and bikeandsaddle.com portal) | opportunity to co-develop custom active travel products for members.

Branding and marketing collaboration of the Eco-Active Network
As an ‘Eco-Active Member’ your sales  & marketing collateral will be enhanced and complimented by carrying the membership logo: “Going Eco-Active with Bike & Saddle” and the extention of the “CarbonNeutral” label to your materials.

Revenue model
All sales to your guests, prior, during and post stay, are commissionable and adjusted according to monthly and annual volumes (over 20 sales a month will typically earn a 20% commission; consistent sales volumes are rewared with a bonus payment annually) | jointly and co-developed, custom products, a 50:50 revenue share model applies (after costs, revenue are shared).

Use of name and logos
Use of all names and logos are granted unequivocally for the duration of the membership.

Intellectual property
No change in ownership is affected during the membership period and property of the parties prior to the MOU remain theirs without change during and after the relationship | where new intellectual property are generated as a result of the relaionship collaboration, such property will be shared equally or shared in the ratio agreed to during the collaboration.

General
General legal items such as resolution of disputes, automatic renewal of membership, etc.

Costs
Who pays for what | No membership fees, etc. (Bike and Saddle provides all sales aids and collateral at no cost).

Non disclosure – NDA
The parties agree to keep confidential certain information shared that may have a materail affect on the parties business which they don’t wish to share outside of the relationship. A separate agreement for this purpose forms part of the MOU.

The MOU in its entirety, is available to parties interested to pursue the Affiliate opportunity, on written request.
