Eco and Social Awareness at Welgelegen
Welgelegen strives to reduce their environmental impact by recycling glass and plastics, conserving energy and using environmentally friendly products in the landscaped garden. In addition all clothes, discarded linen and towels are donated to Ons Plek, a local women's and children's shelter. Welgelegen is also involved in supporting Uthando, a proudly South African tourism initiative. They make donations towards a number of fund raising auctions throughout the year and also support Nazareth House, Air Mercy, St Lukes Hospice and Society for the Blind, Little Miracles and Rape Crisis.
Stying at Welgelegen you can now request any of our signature carbon neutral cycle excursions. Start by booking a Cape Town Evening Cycle, a cultural and heritage tour of South Africa's favourite city, from the back of a bike! (Electric Bikes now available to help you climb those tough slopes around the mountain!)
