Last year I wanted to take part in the vintage ride L'Eroica with my oncle's old Bianchi bike. I'm not the fittest of cyclists and ofter suffer discomfort on the saddle, so I asked my dealer for a tip on the seat. My oncle's bike had an old Selle Italia plastic saddle of the 1970s, rather hard and uncomfortable. 'Should I put a gel saddle?' I asked my dealer. 'On such a bike?' he said, then showed me a Brooks Swift saddle, harder than stone! 'Nothing softer?' I asked. Finally he took out of the shelves a new B17 Aged. It looked wide enough, but still not quite as soft as a gel seat. I trusted his expertise when he explained to me that comfort is not about softness. Although it looked wonderful on my period bicycle, I was still sceptical on the comfort. Finallly I rode the 135km Erotica tour on the new saddle and, since then, I bought 2 more B17 Aged both for my Hercules trekking bike and for my Cannondale road bike. I haven't tried other Brooks, anyway thanks for making the B17 Aged so comfortable!
