Full-Day | Cape Cycle Safari - Private Reserve
After a trip briefing at the historic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront we leave Cape Town and make our way along the West Coast and its quaint fishing villages, windswept beaches and rugged shoreline dotting the Atlantic Ocean! This region has yet to be swamped by tourists and still exudes an off the beaten track air and it is exactly for this reason that we bring our guests here - to show off one of our best kept secrets!
We transfer to Buffelsfontein Game Reserve, a private reserve where we have scouted an excluisve cycle route through the wilderness. We are met by our armed ranger and back-up vehicle, and after learning about the various fauna and flora in the reserve, we hop onto our trusty bikes and the adventure begins! We may get up close to a variety of antelope and plains game, including zebra, giraffe, oryx, wildebeest, kudu, eland, springbok and we can visit the cheetah and lion enclosures to marvel at these mighty cats! Not only does cycling ensure a more intimate experience, it allows us to get closer to nature than we ever expected and makes for amazing wildlife viewing!
After our guided cycle we return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch and detailed explanation of all the plants and animals we have been priviliged to witness from the saddle. If you wish to extend the tour, an optional extra is an afternoon game drive in the reserve or visit to the West Coast National Park, before we make our way out of Buffelsfontein and back to Cape Town!
